ANY HARDWARE STORE THAT SELLS MAIL BOXES WILL HAVE THEM.LOWES HAS SOME WITH A STRONG STICKY TAPE ON IT.IVE HAD THEM ON MY CAR PORT FOR YEARS.

Depends on the size of the person needing it. Some good companies to contact would be: Pride Mobility, Invacare, and Guardian. They all deal with this type of product and should be able to help you. You could also check a company call Sunrise Medical.

Or any good place to buy a good used Electric Wheel Chair with a max. weight limit of 500lbs. My family member is a big person. Thanks in advance for all answers…

It is hard to find a wholesaler that will sell a single unit directly to the consumer. One suggestion is to comb the classified ads in the paper – people are frequently selling motorized wheelchairs they no longer need.

Do old people/handicapped people use petrol to power those Electric Wheel Chair things or what? Oh, the mysteries of the world..

i got it from ma muma

First time electric wheelchair users are still getting to know their chairs and how they operate. If you own an electric wheelchair and you’re wondering how you’ll do with it, use this article as a guide to help. It gives practical advice, gleaned from those who have used electric wheelchairs to make sure your experience is the best it can be.

Make sure you have reflector tape on all 4 sides of your wheelchair. While you will probably be on the sidewalks – and usually just during the day – it’s good to have just in case. The reflector tape will still show up brightly during the day and if you find yourself delayed at night, you have nothing to worry about.

If you live in an area where you don’t have very good sidewalks and you are forced to travel on the road, stay to the side, abide by traffic laws, and get yourself a bright orange flag that you can attach to your chair. This will help you be seen not only by the car behind you but by the car behind them! That’s very important.

Find out what the distance is for your electric wheelchair’s batteries. Subtract 10% – 20% of the total distance. With this new distance, divide that amount in half. Then get a map and draw a circle around your home extending out the distance of that last number (which should be 40% to 45% of your battery’s total driving distance). This will give you the maximum range you want to go on a trip in order to get out (to do your shopping or pay bills, etc.) and to get back. And there’s a little extra capacity built in, just in case. Bring your map with you at first. While you may be familiar with the streets in your car, it can be a different story in your wheelchair…and if it’s getting late and you’re worried about the battery capacity, a map might help you find a shortcut through a park or schoolyard.

When you are not using your electric wheelchair, be sure to recharge the battery. Nothing is more frustrating than wanting to go out and not having the battery charge to go. As an alternative, buy two batteries when you get your wheelchair and always keep one on the charger and the other on your chair.

Get a poncho and carry it with you always. It can be frustrating to be caught in a downpour and a poncho will help keep you and the components on your wheelchair dry.

Something else you will want to do BEFORE you venture very far in your wheelchair is to get used to the clearance of your wheelchair. Because the batteries and motors are sometimes lower to the ground than we are used to, it can be easy to get caught up on a rock or a curb that we were once able to get over in a manually powered chair but are not longer able to get over now. As well, a stick (like a cane or a hefty walking stick) can give your chair a little extra “oomph” if you do find yourself hung up.

It has always been a fact that health is very important to all people and must be given proper care. Everyone is responsible to take good care of their health. Pediatricians are also responsible for the infant’s health, and provide them with proper guidance for the achievement of good health.

Often, disability cannot be prevented especially on children. And so they are given care givers but still they need the assistance so that the patient can meet their basic needs in their everyday lives. Pediatricians can even recommend the use of mechanical aiding device to reduce burdens.

To increase the mobility of the children having lower strength and endurance due to some health problems, a pediatric electric wheelchair is required. It provides enough convenience for the improvement of motion. Its variation is rugged. It contains a joystick that is placed on either left or right-hand side helpful for those children unable to walk or can only use one hand. There are also frames being designed to support heavy weight.

It is recommended for children with head injuries.
It is advisable for those who suffer cerebral palsy or muscular dystrophy.
Can also be recommended for amputated children and is not subjected for artificial limbs.
It is also used as a substitute for crutches or walkers for children

The Pediatric Wheelchair must comply with the physician’s specifications. The age and ability of the child also determines the wheelchair’s category. The child is given the right to choose what wheelchair he wants to use. Proper orientation about the various features on the category of the wheelchairs must be given to the parents and the child. Before the wheelchair meets a problem, it is advised that they must ask for the maintenance manual and troubleshooting guide. They can also ask help from the pediatric electric wheelchair dealer.

These wheelchairs vary in designs depending on the nature and age of the child. Lifts are designed for either child, junior or growing patient are good for those ages 6 years and above. Children active in sports and wants to move freely are advised to use the lightweight or the sport Pediatric wheelchair.

This wheelchair should be adjustable as the child grows and should fit the child’s needs. The frame design must be rigid for changing it to a self propelled chair thus making it easier to push and maneuver the chair.

The designs can be assembled with back set in a folding or non-folding position. The ones folded help in easy transportation. Having an open frame makes it possible to easily integrate the systems of the seats.

The built-in growth adjustments must be incorporated in the steel frame accommodating the growing yeas of the child and can also act as a support. The multiple wheels and some combinations of casters help in rear wheel positions to help the growing arms of the child for self propelling.

the extended speaker is electric and i have to wire it in my wheelchair batteries, in other words I want to hear my surrounding without the headphones in my ears all the time

Most power wheelchairs work on 2 12vdc deep-cycle batteries, and often have a ‘tap’ so you can hook up accessories.

The thing to remember is that cars recharge the batteries in use, You will be draining the batteries when you listen- so you will be sacrificing range of mobility for music when you could do the music part with a few rechargeable D’s or something.

If you have a headrest, you can rig a pair of small powered speakers (like computer speakers) on the headrest to help create a ‘bubble’ of sound for your pleasure, all powered off a few cheap batteries. A rig like this would cost a lot less as well.

I think the airlines, trucking companies, taxi services, all private transportation, should have this technology. Can you imagine a blind taxi driver? 90 miles an hour through busy rush hour traffic with a driver who can’t see his hand in front of his face. What a "Rush"! How about flying from L.A. to New York with a blind flight crew! "We’ll be flying some where between the ground and who knows where, so sit back and enjoy your flight. The flight will be 3 hours and 5 minutes, so, some one keep me advised on the time so I’ll know when to land this thing. Please observe the no smoking…"

This is a bit embarrassing, but it’s getting more difficult to move around these days (bad hip) and wanted to check into jazzy Electric Wheel Chairs. I sorta want to find out if there are any models of jazzy electric wheel chairs that are better than others. I don’t really want any other brands though because I’ve heard good things about their speed and other things, but I wanted to hear more from people who’ve had experience with jazzy Electric Wheel Chairs. I did a search for jazzy electric wheel chair and it showed a lot, but I still haven’t made up my mind. Let me know what you think!

Don’t be embarrassed! To people who have no legs, and can’t get around at all, their wheelchair IS their legs. It’s nothing to get embarrassed about, but on to your question about jazzy electric wheel chairs. My favorite model has been the 1100. It’s an older model, and I’m not even sure if they sell it still, but it’s easily the best, and has never failed me whereas others have.
